How you
instruct us

Through your lawyer

Counsel instructs us and we report to counsel. Preferred where privilege matters, where a senior officer is involved, or where the matter is likely to be litigated.

Directly

You instruct us and we report to you, bringing in counsel where an authorisation is needed. Faster where the facts are still unclear and time matters. We will tell you when to change route.

Scoping
and fees

The first conversation is without charge. After it, you receive a written scope: what will be done, in what order, by whom, and what it will cost. Work proceeds against that scope, and if the facts take the matter somewhere new we stop and agree the next step with you before continuing.

Fixed fee for a defined piece of work, wherever the scope allows it
A short preliminary assessment first, where it is not yet clear what is needed
Costs reported as the matter runs, never at the end as a surprise

Independence

We have no audit practice, no consulting arm and no product to sell you afterwards, so there is nothing behind the finding except the finding. Before accepting a mandate we check it against our existing clients and decline where a conflict exists.
